Purpose of the Course

This course provides detailed coverage of Web site development using the latest Web technologies. Held in a hands-on workshop environment, this course goes beyond the basics of page layout and covers development of dynamic, interactive Web applications. This course stresses server side development and database connectivity which is, and will be the foundation of the next generation of Web site applications. Java Script, VB Script, ASP (Active Server Pages) and ADO (Active Data Objects) are covered and compared.

Develop static and dynamic Web pages using the latest features in HTML

Use both Java Script and VB Script for dynamic Web page content
Develop and understand Client and Server side scripting
Develop Web sites using ASP (Active Server Pages) and use Object Models to
quickly build Web Sites that retain connections to the Web Server
Use ActiveX technology in the Client browser and more importantly, ActiveX components
on the Web Server
Connect to and use any relational database for dynamic content and display and on-line
data entry
Understand scalability and security issues when developing larger Web applications
Use COM, DCOM and MTS (Microsoft Transaction Server) for inter process communication
